Commentary | Sancho Panza, in the center of the composition, gesticulates while three servants, by Pedro Recio's order, take away the most delicious dishes.
Pedro Recio is dressed in a ridiculous manner. Several servants (forming a semicircle) observe the scene. Drawing and engraving are acceptable as a whole, but poor in some details. |
Notes | 1 - Plate XX.
2 - Surrounded by a strong line enclosing underneath a space for inscription, which however has been left blank. 3 - Copy after Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1728-30). 4 - Probably, the copy has been done after the plate for Paris/La Haye: Chez Bleuet, 1774, which has a similar frame and underneath space but with caption. 5 - The plate is not signed. |
